ISU Director of Bands John Boyd gave his final performance in Tilson Auditorium after 41 years in higher education.
Boyd conducted the Wind Orchestra for the last time, performing works such as Richard Strauss' "Allerseelen," Peter Tanner's "Sonata for Marimba" and Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition." ISU music faculty members Paul Bro and Jimmy Finnie performed with the orchestra. Also performing in honor of the retiring director were the Faculty Winds and Brass Quintet. The final song performed was "March On!".
Boyd is set to retire in May after 21 years at ISU.
